When she stepped out of the car on the day of the photo shoot I was immediately taken back to the 9th grade. Madame Dutarte’s French class. Note passing. Test taking. Talking when we weren’t supposed to be. Making plans for the upcoming school dance.
True friendship.
Only now, my friend Samantha is not 14, inviting me over to her house to watch One Tree Hill or to take a trip to Amy’s Ice Cream on Saturday. She’s 25, grown, and engaged.
I was so honored to take Sam & Adan’s engagement photos in the heart of the city where we grew up: Austin, Texas. It was great to catch up with an old friend, meet the love of her life (he’s awesome) and capture their relationship during one of the most exciting times of their lives: the year leading up to their joyous wedding.
As I told Sam when I delivered the photos, this shoot is special to me, because when you look at the pictures, you can immediately see how much they love each other. If I had to describe the tone of this session in one word, the word would be sweet. They are so, so sweet.
